Band Members:
Barry Korcheski - (Hammond organ) Played his first gig in Niagara Falls, Canada at the age of 16. Over the years Barry has performed as a keyboardist, vocalist and entertainer in Canada, the United States, Australia, New Zealand. In international jazz/music festivals and on cruise ships. Locally, Barry has played in piano bars, hotels, restaurants and with various jazz club music ensembles. Barry is currently resident Hammond organist/keyboardist at the Rutherford Hotel in Nelson, NZ.
John Rowburrey - (guitar) Grew up in South Wales, U.K. He first picked up the guitar in his early teens and by the time he left school he was playing rock music in the local pubs. In the 80's he was a member of a 'Cabaret' band that played every weekend in clubs throughout South Wales. In the 90's he moved to Adelaide, Australia where he studied jazz. By 2000 he was living in Nelson, New Zealand, playing with various musicians at local venues, also playing in the Nelson Jazz Festival on several occasions.
John Irvine - (drums) Was born and raised in Auckland where he played for many years with various rock/pop bands such as Kitty Hawk and Malenky Robot. He toured the North Island performing in Wellington, Auckland, Hamilton, and Tauranga,this included shows at the camp “A Low Hum” festival. He has recorded with bands at the well known Auckland York Street studios. John has been in Nelson for the last few years where he is currently studying further percussion and jazz. John is enjoying being a member of KooL ToneS and looks forward to performing with the band at international venues, events and jazz/music festivals in the future.
